Character profile

Float Switch Fairy

Float Switch Fairy is the tiny guardian who wakes the sump pump before the basement becomes a pond. She watches the water level, starts the pump, and reminds everyone that controls matter.

Role in PumpDaily

The small switch that saves the floor.

Float Switch Fairy teaches that a pump is only useful when it starts at the right time. In sump systems, tank systems, and basin systems, water level controls are often the difference between quiet operation and a wet disaster.

Main episode

She saves the basement.

In Episode 5, water rises in the sump pit and Float Switch Fairy appears. The pump is ready, but readiness is not enough. The float switch must move freely and signal the pump in time.

Her lesson is simple: controls are part of the pump system, not an accessory afterthought.

Personality

Small, bright, and very serious about timing.

Float Switch Fairy is cheerful until someone blocks her travel path with debris, cords, sludge, a bad lid, a stuck float, or a pump shoved awkwardly into the pit.

She does not need a big speech. She needs room to move.
Sump lesson

The pit collects the problem.

A sump basin collects unwanted water. The float switch senses the water level. The pump moves water out. The discharge line carries it away from the building.

If any one of those pieces fails, the basement may still flood.

Teamwork

She needs Check Valve Cat.

After the sump pump shuts off, water in the discharge line may want to fall back into the pit. Check Valve Cat helps prevent that reverse flow so the pump does not move the same water again and again.

Float Switch Fairy wakes the pump. Check Valve Cat keeps the water from undoing the work.
Backup plan

Storms can bring water and power outages.

A sump pump may be most needed during a storm — exactly when power may fail. Backup power, alarms, maintenance, discharge routing, and testing can be critical depending on the property.

Float Switch Fairy wants the whole plan checked before the rain starts.
